Please join us for a fall cocktail party and fundraiser at Castle Hill Farm! This event is a great opportunity to get together with friends, learn how to make a “lasagna bulb planter” and support a great cause -The Center for Empowerment and Education in Danbury, CT.
The mission of the center states, “Our mission is to break the cycle of interpersonal violence through empowerment, education and support services utilizing inclusive, trauma-informed, and client-centered practices for all individuals in the community.” Learn more about the center here:
What is a Lasagna planter you ask? A lasagna planter refers to a gardening technique, also known as "layered planting" or "lasagna gardening," where bulbs or composting materials are arranged in layers within a pot or garden bed. This method creates a continuous display of flowers in the same pot or bed by planting bulbs that bloom at different times throughout the spring. Tickets $75
Your ticket includes:
Fall Buffet Dinner including wine, soft drinks and a “signature cocktail”
Bulb Lasagna Planter Demonstration (it would be way to big to plant and drag home- but you will have all the knowledge you need to do it at home!)
“Bulb Kit” and instructions to create your Lasagna Planter
Opportunity to purchase more bulbs at the “Bulb Market”, including specialty tulips, daffodils and amaryllis bulbs and peony roots
Raffle! Prizes include Winter Tulip subscription, amaryllis planters and other plant arrangements!
Fall is the best time to plant bulbs, and here at Tulips and Sage, we are a bit obsessed…. clearly by our name! And, as a long time supporter of women’s health, I am thrilled to host this event to benefit The Center for Empowerment and Education. All profits from this event will directly donated to The Center.
